Work Setting:
Butcher shop

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare meat for processing and cutting
• Break down carcasses, sides, and quarters
• Trim and cut standard portions of meat
• Package and wrap prepared meat products
• Debone meats
• Weigh and price meat products for sale
• Assist customers with purchases
• Train junior meat cutters
• Slice cooked meats and prepare specialty cuts
• Handle special orders and create attractive meat displays
• Shape, lace, and tie roasts, poultry, and seafood
