Responsibilities and Duties
As a Kitchen Helper at Naijaspot Restaurant Inc., you will play an essential role in supporting kitchen operations. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Bringing clean dishes, utensils, and other items to serving areas and setting tables.
- Cleaning and sanitizing items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
- Clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs after service.
- Washing and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment by hand.
- Scouring pots and pans to remove tough residues.
- Preparing and packaging take-out food orders.
- Portioning, wrapping, and storing foods properly.
- Preparing, heating, and finishing simple food items as instructed by kitchen staff.
- Taking customers’ orders when necessary.
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, and appliances.
- Handling and storing cleaning products safely.
- Receiving, unpacking, and organizing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas.
- Disposing of kitchen garbage and maintaining cleanliness in waste areas.
- Sharpening kitchen knives as needed.
- Sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing kitchen floors.
- Washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Assisting in the preparation and cooking of meals or specialty foods.
