Key Job Details

  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Schedule: Morning, Daytime, and Evening shifts
  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Wage: $20.50 per hour
  • Location: On-site in Oshawa, ON (no remote work option)
  • Start Date: Immediate

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: High school diploma (Secondary School Graduation Certificate)


Experience Requirements

  • Required Experience: 7 months to under 1 year of related childcare experience


Core Responsibilities

As an ECE Assistant, your role will include:

  • Providing care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding
  • Supporting lead educators in executing programs that enhance children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
  • Organizing engaging activities such as storytelling, singing, and local excursions
  • Monitoring and documenting children’s progress and behaviors for review with the education team
  • Creating an environment that encourages creative expression through art, music, and physical activities
  • Teaching and modeling healthy habits including hygiene, dressing, eating, and toilet routines
  • Assisting with snack preparation and setting up rooms for rest or lunch periods
  • Helping manage classroom materials and ordering necessary educational supplies
  • Maintaining open communication with staff, families, and community service professionals
  • Contributing actively in team meetings to discuss individual child development and needs
  • Ensuring a safe, secure, and healthy space for children’s learning and growth


Tech & Tools

  • Comfortable using basic computer applications
  • Knowledge of social media platforms is an asset
