Group Home Worker Opportunity at Barrett House

Job Location: Napanee, ON
Workplace Type: On-site

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $25.00 to $28.00 (Negotiable)
  • Weekly Hours: 12 to 40 hours
  • Employment Type: Permanent, part-time progressing to full-time
  • Schedule: Evening, night, weekend, and flexible hours
  • Start Date: Immediate

Position Overview

Languages Required: English
Education:

  • College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
    Experience:
  • Asset but not mandatory

Work Environment:

  • Focus on child welfare, behavioral health, substance use, and gambling issues
  • Specialized programs for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

Work Setting: Group home


Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee support staff and daily operations
  • Handle housekeeping duties and conflict resolution
  • Provide crisis intervention, including suicide prevention support
  • Supervise residents in group homes and halfway houses
  • Implement behavior management strategies
  • Assist clients with special needs

Supervision Scope: 5-10 individuals


Required Qualifications

  • Certificates:

    • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
    • First Aid and CPR Certification

  • Screening Checks:

    • Criminal record and child welfare checks
    • Driving abstract
    • Medical exam

  • Transportation Requirements:

    • Must own a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license
    • Regular travel required
