Your Role as a Community Care Worker
In this role, you will deliver a wide range of person-centred services across aged care, disability, and community settings. Your support empowers individuals to live with independence, dignity, and confidence.
Your Responsibilities Include:
Personal & Health Support
- Assisting with showering, dressing, grooming, and continence care
- Supporting customers with meals and hydration
- Assisting with medication prompts (as outlined in care plans)
Daily Living Support
- General domestic duties including laundry, housework, ironing, and basic gardening
- Providing in-home respite and centre-based respite care
- Overnight respite care, including sleepover shifts
Community Access & Social Support
- Providing transport for shopping, appointments, and community activities
- Supporting social engagement, companionship, and wellbeing activities
- Helping customers access additional services where required
All duties are completed in accordance with the customer’s individual care plan and WMQ’s person-centred care principles.
What We’re Looking For
Locations: Hervey Bay, Maryborough & Surrounding Areas
We’re seeking caring, enthusiastic, and committed Care Workers who are passionate about supporting older people and individuals living with disabilities.
You Will Have:
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Understanding of the diverse needs of older people and people with a disability
- Flexibility to work across various care environments and customer needs
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Willingness to travel throughout the community to support multiple clients
- Certificate III in Individual Care (or equivalent) for appointment to Level 3
- A comprehensively insured motor vehicle suitable for client visits
- A current Queensland Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to use your own vehicle for work purposes
