About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Fabricator Welder to join our busy and motivated team at our Otorohanga site. This role is ideal for someone looking to start in the new year and who brings solid experience in fabrication, MIG welding, and working with engineered components.

You will be part of a professional production team responsible for manufacturing final machinery assemblies and component parts to precise standards. Attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to collaborate effectively are essential.

Key Responsibilities

As a Fabricator Welder, your duties will include:

  • Carrying out fabrication and MIG welding on machinery, equipment frames, and engineered components
  • Reading, understanding, and working confidently from engineering drawings
  • Operating fabrication tools, machinery, and workshop equipment safely and effectively
  • Performing quality checks to ensure all work meets Giltrap’s high manufacturing standards
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workstation in accordance with workplace health & safety requirements
  • Collaborating with other team members and contributing to a positive workflow to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Assisting with other general workshop tasks when required

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven fabrication and MIG welding experience (essential)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • A reliable, positive, and proactive work ethic
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test, along with ongoing random testing
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand or a valid work visa

Experience in agricultural machinery manufacturing or heavy fabrication will be an advantage but is not essential.
