Job Overview

Language Requirement:

Education:

• No formal education, certificate, or diploma needed.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 month up to 7 months of relevant experience.

• Exposure to odours and dust during work.
• Work is carried out at the employer’s or client’s home.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces for flooring installation.
• Cut and fasten underlay and underpadding.
• Develop flooring layouts and schedules.
• Install carpets, resilient floor coverings, and hardwood floors.
• Repair damaged flooring and estimate costs/materials.
• Prepare flooring surfaces before installation.
• Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants.
• Install carpet on walls or other surfaces as required.
• Utilize tools like knee kickers to stretch carpeting.
• Perform glue-down and double-bond carpet installations.
• Install resilient stair components for accessibility.
• Work with countertops and raised platforms.

Specialized Skills & Experience

Types of Flooring Installation:

• Vinyl/resilient tiles and sheets.
• Ceramic and marble tiles.
• Borders, feature strips, and flash covings.
• Hardwood flooring with intricate patterns.
• Parquet flooring.
• Modular carpet tiles.

Additional Requirements

Transportation & Travel

• Must have own transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Physically demanding role.
• Lifting heavy materials.
• Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to differentiate colors.
