Workplace Requirements This position requires work to be performed at the physical job site. Remote work is not an option.

Responsibilities

  • Plan or modify driving routes using computer systems, GPS devices, or other navigation tools to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Demonstrate expertise in mountain driving.
  • Exhibit professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
  • Operate as part of a two-person team or convoy when needed.
  • Load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
  • Drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and inspect essential components, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
  • Adjust brakes and perform emergency roadside repairs when required.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all vehicle aspects are thoroughly checked.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on the truck.
  • Relay and receive updates from central dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo, hours worked, distance covered, and fuel usage.
  • Secure cargo with tarps and ensure all safety measures are followed.
  • Handle and transport hazardous goods safely.

Credentials and Certifications

  • AZ Class License
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Class 1/1F/A License (for semi-trailer trucks)
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Specialized Experience and Documentation Knowledge

  • Familiarity with bill of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance logs, and trip reports.
