Galaxy S25 Release Date, Ultra Price, Design, and Specs Check

Hello, this is JD 🙂 As the year is nearing its end, the new year is approaching, bringing with it the release of various new products. While I continue to keep an eye on Apple’s iPhone series, I’ve been using Samsung’s Galaxy S series as my main phone for a long time, so I’m quite curious about the upcoming Galaxy S25 release date, price, design, and specs.

As we approach the time when more detailed information is being revealed, it’s a good time to check these details before pre-orders begin to decide whether to upgrade my device. I’ll summarize the rumors and information shared by overseas tipsters, so you can check it out before the official release.

Galaxy S25 Release Date

If we look at the release dates of past Galaxy S series models, the Galaxy S25 is expected to be released sometime between late January and late February. Although it’s difficult to predict the exact date or week, it’s unlikely to be outside this range. Once the launch event and pre-order dates are announced, we’ll know for sure.

ModelPre-orderRelease Date

S24Jan 19, 2024Jan 31, 2024
S25 (Expected)Jan 5, 2025Jan 14, 2025

Personally, I expect the Galaxy S25 to begin pre-orders around January 14 and release around January 24, but given the Lunar New Year holiday, it might be delayed until January 27 or 31. However, according to PhoneArena, there’s news that the Unpacked event will take place on January 5, which increases the likelihood of an earlier release compared to the previous models.

Price

As always, one of the most anticipated things about the Galaxy S25 is the price. With continuous advancements in technology, smartphone performance has improved, but the cost of chipsets has risen, which means the device prices have also increased. While there won’t be significant changes for the regular and Plus models, the Ultra version is expected to follow the trend of price increases, similar to how the S24 Ultra was priced higher than the S23 Ultra.

Model256GB Price512GB Price
S23â‚©1,155,000â‚©1,276,000
S23 Plusâ‚©1,353,000â‚©1,474,000
S23 Ultraâ‚©1,599,400â‚©1,720,400
S24â‚©1,155,000â‚©1,298,000
S24 Plusâ‚©1,353,000â‚©1,496,000
S24 Ultraâ‚©1,698,400â‚©1,841,400
S25â‚©1,155,000â‚©1,320,000
S25 Plusâ‚©1,353,000â‚©1,518,000
S25 Ultraâ‚©1,804,000â‚©1,971,000

For the basic model, prices might stay the same as last year, but for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the price is expected to exceed â‚©1,800,000 for the 256GB version. If you opt for the 512GB model, the price may reach nearly â‚©2,000,000.

Design

There may not be significant design changes for the basic and Plus models, but the design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra will see noticeable differences. The leaked renderings show that the previously sharp-edged corners of the device will be rounded for a smoother look, making it more comfortable to hold. Some users might miss the sharp edges, but as a long-time Ultra user, I personally find the rounded corners more comfortable.

The display size will slightly increase: from 6.2 inches to 6.36 inches for the basic model and from 6.8 inches to 6.9 inches for the Ultra. However, it’s surprising that the Galaxy S25 will still use the M13 OLED display, while other flagship devices from different brands are using the newer M14 OLED. This might be to reduce costs.

Specs

A major highlight for the Galaxy S25 is the expected AP chipset. It is likely to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite chipset, which is expected to show a 40% performance improvement in single-core and 42% improvement in multi-core performance compared to the already impressive Snapdragon Gen 3. This means enhanced AI capabilities and smoother app performance.

However, there are also reports that a model with Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset has been spotted on Geekbench, so it’s still unclear whether the Exynos model will be available.

For RAM, all models (basic, Plus, Ultra) are expected to have 12GB, but there’s a possibility that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have 16GB of RAM.

While the Snapdragon Elite chipset is expected to boost performance, it may lead to a price hike, whereas using the Exynos 2500 might keep the cost down. We’ll have to wait for confirmation on this, but it’s something that will likely affect user choices.

I’ve compiled the information available so far, but we’ll update you with more details once they’re confirmed closer to the release date!
